Effective Diet Pills are misleading and dangerous

Now, despite billions of dollars in glossy color advertisements, there is little to no SCIENTIFIC proof (I’ll come back to that point later) that there are effective diet supplements. And, there are legitimate reasons why researchers can’t do a lot of research on these products.

To do a study or experiment, using humans, and have it be “accepted” by in a peer-reviewed journal, there are quite a few criterion that must be met, safety being the first. You need to have strict protocols in place to make sure that nothing you are doing to the humans (whether the activity, like working out) or the substance they are ingesting (a certain diet pill vs placebo)will cause them harm.

The irony is obvious – to test diet pills, people have to take them, however, you won’t know if they will harm them until AFTER they have taken them. You will usually see the FDA’s disclaimer on a product stating that it hasn’t “evaluated the statements” on the container – and the product itself is considered a dietary supplement.

I have taken some time and searched the internet as well as my local stores for various EFFECTIVE diet pills. At a rough guess, there are over 100…and for obvious reasons, I haven’t tried all of them. I did, about 20 years ago, take Hydroxycut, but I didn’t take it correctly (in other words I overdosed) and made myself very, very sick. So, I am simply trying to report information here, making no suggestions whatsoever.
